Derby day the precinct tickets

In 1875, a fleet of horses galloped around the hallowed race track at Churchill Downs in Kentucky, marking the inception of a tradition that remains the epitome of thrill: “the most exciting 2 minutes in sports.” The iconic “Run for the Roses” took root in 1886, when a gallant gesture of gifting roses to all the ladies evolved into the race’s signature rose drape for the triumphant horse.

In the melodic echoes of the 1980s, the brilliant artist Dan Fogelberg immortalized the Derby spirit with his song, “A Run for the Roses,” capturing the essence of “the chance of a lifetime in a lifetime of chance.” This sentiment encapsulates the core mission of AMBUCS, an organization dedicated to affording children and veterans the transformative gift of mobility—a gift often overlooked by many.
